Step by step in writing an essay

Determine What Type of Essay It Is

The first step to writing an essay is to determine the type of essay. There are four main categories into which essays can be grouped:

Narrative essay - Tell a story or provide information about a subject in a straightforward and orderly way, as in a story.

Persuasive essay - Convince the reader of some point of view.

Expository essay - Explain how to carry out a certain process to the reader. For example, write an expository essay with step-by-step instructions on how to make fried rice.

Descriptive essay - an essay that describes a subject or object (either a person or an object) that attracts the author's attention to be discussed or researched.

Knowing the types of essays helps to decide on the topic and structure the essay in the best way.

Create an Essay Outline

This step has entered the technical phase. Create an Essay Outline aims to make it easier for writers to design ideas or points from the topics described. Making an Essay Outline must be in short and solid sentences.

Develop a Thesis Statement

After outlining, it is continued with Develop a Thesis Statement. A thesis statement is the point of your essay. making must be based on the topic to be raised then make a list of points or arguments, and continue with making a list of facts to support the points or arguments.

Introduce Your Topic

For an introduction to the topic of the essay, it must provide clear instructions for the entire essay, by providing the main idea or topic of the essay and stating arguments that are supported by facts. Introducing this topic is a way to grab the reader's attention, so it's best to provide surprising but factual information.

Write the Body of the Essay

Making the body of the essay provides details about the points that have been compiled with the development of each paragraph of the essay content. Making the body of the essay must begin with a topic sentence summarizing the points, which is then followed by a more detailed explanation, and ends with supporting arguments that can be proven in fact. Making essays with good sentences, and effective, and proper diction is a must.

Present Your Conclusion

The conclusion of this essay must ensure that all ideas are well summarized, must not repeat the descriptions made in the previous paragraph, and do not discuss new things that require further discussion.

Reread

After writing the essay, the last step you have to do is to reread the writing that you have made. Make sure there are no wrong words or ambiguous sentences that make the information you write less clear.
